Policy
We collect only what the courses require — no tracking, never sold.
FOIGA LLC (operating “Tsukiwa”, hereafter “we”) handles your personal information under this policy, in accordance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
This policy applies to this site (tsukiwa.co), to the courses and activities booked through it, and to the notices we send about our courses and activities.
What we collect
- What you give us when booking
- Your name, email address, any note you write, your time zone and language, the course and times you choose (including any reschedules), any promo code you use, and a record of your choices on each consent item.
- Session notes
- The short notes you and the teacher each leave after a session. Yours are visible on “My sessions”.
- Activity sign-up lists
- When you sign up for an activity through a Google Form or similar, the name, email and language you give us are used to send you that activity's notices. Write to us any time to stop receiving them.
- Payment details
- Card numbers are handled directly by Stripe — they never pass through or get stored on this site. We keep only the amount, the payment status and Stripe's transaction reference.
- Collected automatically
- To prevent abuse, we record a one-way hash of your IP address when you submit a booking or check a promo code (it cannot be turned back into the address). Our infrastructure (Cloudflare) also keeps short-term access logs.
- Signing in to My sessions
- You sign in to “My sessions” with a one-time code sent to your email (Cloudflare Access). A strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in.
About tracking
This site uses no advertising, behavioural tracking or analytics tools. Cookies are limited to what sign-in and basic functions require.
Why we collect it
Your information is used only to:
provide the courses and activities you book — confirming the booking, scheduling, and addressing you by name during sessions (your teacher receives your booking details); send confirmation, rescheduling and cancellation emails; answer your enquiries; prevent abuse and keep the system secure; and keep records required by law (such as transaction records under the Specified Commercial Transactions Act).
We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell or rent it to anyone.
Services that process data for us
To run the service, the following providers process data on our behalf, each within its role. We supervise these processors as the law requires.
- Payment
- Stripe (checkout and receipts)
- Site infrastructure
- Cloudflare (hosting, data storage, sign-in to My sessions)
- Email delivery
- Resend (confirmation and other system emails, and activity notices)
- Scheduling
- Google (your name, email and booking details go into our work calendar)
- Web fonts
- Adobe Fonts (when pages load font files, your IP address is processed by Adobe)
Online sessions are held via Zoom. What you give Zoom when joining a meeting (such as your display name) is governed by Zoom's privacy policy; we do not send your personal information to Zoom.
Some of the processors above are located outside Japan (mainly in the United States), where the data is processed and stored. Under Article 28 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we use them only after confirming they maintain equivalent safeguards. For details of each country's rules and each provider's measures, contact us below.
Apart from these processors and cases provided for by law, we do not share your personal information with anyone without your consent.
How we protect it
All traffic to this site is encrypted (TLS), access to data is restricted by authentication, and we collect no more than we need. Personal data is stored on the servers of Cloudflare, a provider located in the United States. For details of our other measures, contact us below.
Retention and your rights
Booking and consent records are kept as long as needed to provide the courses, handle enquiries and meet legal retention duties, then deleted or anonymised.
You may ask at any time to see your information (disclosure, including records of third-party provision), to correct or delete it, or to have its use stopped. Write to the address below; after confirming your identity we will act promptly, at no charge — though records the law requires us to keep (such as transaction records) can only be deleted once their retention period ends.
